CNI takes lead in virtually launched Union of Asian Chambers

Kathmandu: The Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) has taken lead of Union of Asian Chambers (UAC), an organization representing Asian Chambers.Nirvana Chaudhary, Vice President of CNI leads the organization, whose virtual (soft) launch took place today. Official launch of the organization is scheduled on July 21, 2021.

CNI Vice PresidentChaudhary highlighted the objectives, missions, visions and goals of the UAC and stated that UAC will lobby with governments in easing business operation across the region, explain business opportunities andenable investment platforms.

‘We all are doing lots of activities as an individual chamber in each countries and having challenges and opportunities in doing business,’ said Chaudhary adding, "We will collectively raise voice of all chambers and private sector through this organization."

During the meeting, President of India-Myanmar Chamber of Commerce Sunil Seth, President of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce RizmanRehman and General Secretary of PHD Chamber of Commerce SaurabhSanyal stated that the organization can help explore business and environment opportunities in the region. All the participants from the members of association has highlighted the importance of the UAC and expressed their commitment for the future success. 

UAC envisions to strengthen Asian trade and enhance regional economic growth in Asia. Likewise, the organization is moving with missions of promoting trade activities, encouraging research and development in trade, and advocating for stronger trade ties within the region.

UAC aims to improve conditions in which businesses operate in by improving markets within and beyond Asia. The association will also ensure that businesses have adequate access to human, financial, and natural resources.

UAC is established with 17 founder members representing 7 countries of the Asianregion. Initially, CNI has taken the lead and proposed to transfer to all members on rotation basis in every two years.

Chaudhary is also Coordinating Vice President for the CNI International Relations Committee. Along with him, Atul K Thakur, Nodal Coordinator of India-Nepal Centre of PHD Chamber of Commerce India and Sabin Mishra, director of CNI were core-team members in UAC meeting.
